The new look IPA has again excelled in establishing a partnership with the worlds #1 phenolic ball manufacturer, Aramith.

This year the IPA will introduce the Aramith Pro Cup balls to all its events, adding the ultimate ball to the ultimate pool tour. This ball is the peak of technological achievement and performs flawlessly frame after frame which makes it the perfect match for the world’s best 8ball players, while the colour scheme will remain the same but with a slightly enriched colour that will contrast ideally with the new signatory Strachan 6811 Grey cloth, making it easier on the eye for player and spectator alike.

Aramith IPA , Roll On TogetherOnce a cue ball has been struck it accelerates from 0 to over 30 km/h (20 MPH) in a fraction of a second, with the resulting friction temperature between ball and cloth reaching up to 250°c (482°F). Aramith balls are the only ones made from genuine phenolic resin: their molecular structure is engineered to be wear resistant at such high temperatures, making them far less vulnerable to abrasive burn-spots. They also hold their high luster and smoothness over a much longer period of time, resulting in minimal ball and table cloth wear.

The biggest change for most will be the spotted cue ball, which used to cause concern among the players who disliked the variance between the standard white ball, and the slightly heavier spotted version. The introduction of the complete set of Pro Cup balls alleviates the problem by weight dispersion, so with new tables, cloth, and balls, all designed and manufactured to the very highest standards, players and fans can look forward to a fantastic season ahead.

*The new Aramith Pro Cup Balls are available to purchase via the IPA, please contact a committee member for further details.
