There is simply no stopping the IPA train of change. The IPA & Strachan ‘the cloth of professionals’, have taken the initiative in presenting 8ball Pool with a total facelift. For far too long has the sport been viewed by players and potential sponsors as the poor relation of Snooker, but no longer.
For the first time the sport will have its own uniquely identifiable cloth colour – Grey. The Strachan 6811 Grey cloth will be used for all IPA events this season including the upcoming Sky Sports televised ‘Professional 8Ball Pool Masters’ (March 24th & 25th)
Vice Chairman Morray Dolan said, “The IPA is determined to give 8Ball Pool its own unique identity”. “Creating this identity provides the opportunity for the sport to develop and attract new sponsors”. “We have had the cloth trialled by some of 8ball Pools elite players and we are excited that the sport will finally have its own image”.
Following the announcement this week that Europe’s leading English style pool table manufacturer DPT have joined forces with the IPA, this additional initiative complements the new vision of actively marketing the sport to create greater awareness.
Stuart Gardiner – Strachan “In my opinion the IPA are proving that their vision and energy in trying to raise the sports profile and in creating a unique identity for 8ball Pool is outstanding”. “The sport was being left behind and with this sort of initiative I have no doubt things will quickly progress”. “Strachan is extremely proud to be partners with the IPA, cementing Strachan cloth as the Professionals choice”. The introduction of the new Grey coloured cloth is precisely what 8ball Pool required to shed its former image and attract new sponsors”
The IPA committee are constantly striving to achieve the highest level of excellence in every aspect of its management requirement. Their ambition is to make 8Ball Pool into a sustainable and recognisable sport, one that commands respect and provides our players with pride by association.
